My Name is Nikolai J. Deleff, I was born and raised in Yellowknife, NT, Canada. Ever since I was a kid I would draw and colour, creating new worlds from both life and imagination.

 

     In 2022, I was hospitalized and diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (UC). As I was isolated from the outside world, drawing on the hospital's whiteboard became the gateway into my inner world. This experience gave me profound gratitude, and a renewed sense of purpose that formed the foundation for my Bear and Ivory Picture book.

As a sailing instructor, I have the pleasure of working with kids and young creative thinkers who continue to inspire my own creative projects. This year, in 2024, I am excited to share with many my latest, 'Superdog Jake: And a Whole Lotta' Cake', a children's picture book about my fun dog. My journey here could have have happened had it not started with a challenging obstacle, that would lead me to finding my path.

     

    Since then, I seek to share how art can empower us with the necessary resilience to weather life's toughest storms, all the while coming out on the other side with something to share.
